The tummy tuck incision will be located below the bikini line, virtually undetectable in clothing and usually inconspicuous without clothing. The extent of the incision depends upon the extent of the procedure that is required to produce a positive outcome.

Abdominoplasty Technique


Dr. Hardesty and Dr. Bennett 1) use several techniques (extended, standard and mini abdominoplasty) 2) depending on your physical exam, the appropriate technique to redefine the abdomen includes the following:

  • Remove excess fat and skin

Tummy Tuck Recovery


The recovery period usually lasts four to seven days and before returning to normal daily activities. Usually, by 6 weeks, there are no restrictions to returning to full exercise. Dr. Hardesty and Dr. Bennett will provide you with a list of pre-operative and post operative instructions to follow for the procedure. A pain pump (constant instillation of local anesthesia for the first 3 days after surgery) is included with all tummy tucks. This not only reduce pain but reduce the need for pain pills after surgery. Tummy tuck surgery results are usually quite flattering and your results will last for many years.
