TCA is a chemical peel that is adjustable based on the concentration applied. TCA peels were first introduced in the 1980s. This procedure can cause moderate but tolerable pain when performed with the Zimmer chiller device. The Zimmer chiller device blows cold air that chills the skin counteracting the pain produced by the TCA. The epidermis and superficial dermis peel, healing in three to eight days. TCA concentrations range from 15% to 50%. Higher concentrations result in deeper peels. Practically speaking more superficial the peel, the fewer wrinkles are removed. The TCA Procedure
When you arrive, you will be put in the minor procedural room and made comfortable in the “lazy boy” position. Your skin will be cleansed several times with antiseptic solution, alcohol and possibly acetone. It’s important that all the skin and your natural oils are removed to insure a even Peel. Recovery from TCA
